This painting is my version of Yggdrasil, The World Tree. In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil, an ash, was the tree Odin hung from for nine days in order to achieve enlightenment. In Celtic lore, the ash was said to be the link between the past, present and future. It was also the balancing point between male and female.
